ESSAY COMPETITION!!

This week at school, we had an essay competition for the students to take part in. The questions is :

If you could ask one famous person one question, who and what would you ask? Why?

And here are a few entries made by my students (of course, I only pick out the best to share with you guys!)

How I picked the winners and runner-ups: The humour factor - how much they made me laugh.

WINNER: Hong (he’s one of my favourite students…and from this pic, I think you know why~ there’s not a lesson where he wouldn’t make me laugh out loud..)



I’m asking how to try is go into your brain 365 day my reason, why ask this question is we try everything nothing can’t do so we try we can change rich or study very well in my cases, I think we try to had a friend to another (WTF??) people another people think he is very good person so can change a friend so I think only in my cases I think try is best thing for our mind and body it can be hard, (I’m glad this kid put a comma…but what happened to full stops??) but we could do we want do thing can mind change to happy and mind said to me very good…so I want to ask this question.

IF ANYONE ACTUALLY UNDERSTANDS HIS ESSAY…I’LL PERSONALLY BUY YOU DINNER. HAHA BUT HE’S A CUTE KID AND I LOVE HIM EVEN IF HIS GRAMMAR SUCKS. IN FACT, HIS ENGLISH SUCKS.

RUNNER UP: Jihun (This student is actually from a lower level class, but notice how his English is much better…at least it isn’t just one super long sentence…but the content…ahhh)

If I could ask one famous person one question I would ask Michael Jackson How can you be so nice all the time?
The reason is that I want to be as nice as Michael Jackson (WTF??????)
Also, I want to dance Michael Jackson every day of my life.
This is why I want to ask Michael Jackson why he’s so very nice.

SECOND RUNNER UP: Denny

(This kid repeated the same level 3 times, but I’d say he has improved alot! But what he wrote is so typical Korean that I had to put it in…enjoy!)

If I could ask a famous person one question, I would choose Se Jong King and I would ask him this question: Why you make Korea?
The reason is I was very thankful for Se Jong King because he make us.
He also make Korea and Korean.
That’s why I would ask why make Korea.


HAHAHA!!! Hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I did. Really, it wasn’t difficult to pick out actual winners because so few were actually good! HAHA!!!

One more just for it’s Randomness….

I want to ask what are you do. Because it is major detail!!!! (exclamation marks’ the kid’s own!)
Also book is not correct.
So I want to check.

And when I asked him what his essay meant, he just looked at me and read his essay to me again in a very matter-of-fact way. Then he looks at me and says “That’s what it means!” and he had this look on his face like how the hell could you not understand??? Ahh….kids….they never cease to amaze me.
